INTERNSHIP · Amsterdam TNW

A mission with passion

At Kinder, we’re empowering global citizens to do good, better. We know that trust in the charitable giving sector is at an all-time low – and that as individuals, we can struggle to feel like we can make a difference when it comes to global issues. We’re fighting these obstacles with effective solutions that help both the charitable giving sector and individuals become more impact-driven and informed. The result is a team of global organisations and citizens who are able to make a real, meaningful difference to the causes they care about.

Summed up, our main impact areas are:

  • Enabling seamless and effective donations through tech-for-good tools such as our Donation widget.
  • Steering charitable organisations towards becoming more transparent and accountable through our Vetting framework and Charity Zone.
  • Informing individuals about organisations that will use their donations and engagement the most effectively through our in-house media platform Kinder World.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for design interns that have a passion for digital design and an eagerness to learn. You’ll create and translate concepts into great looking work whilst being mentored by our creative team. This may take the form of digital products (such as websites, social assets and apps), but also other promotional items (such as clothing and event materials) to help build our brand and convey the Kinder message in real life.

This is you

  • You're a student in design or a related field, or are just starting out in your design career.

  • You show an aptitude for creative problem solving and are able to demonstrate this through your portfolio.
  • We know you’re just starting out so we don’t expect you to be an expert but it would be great if you have some experience with:
                • Prototyping tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Zeplin.
                • Design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, and of course pencil and paper!
  • You are familiar with various research methods and know how to apply them at the right time.
  • You know what a wireframe is and could quickly sketch a website on a beer mat.
  • You can substantiate your design choices in English (Dutch is a bonus but not required).
  • You are proactive and you dare to present new ideas and challenge us.
  • You are eager to learn and not afraid of constructive feedback.
  • You have good time management skills and know how to juggle more than one task at a time.
  • You live in the Netherlands, or are planning to move here for your studies. If you're from outside of the EU and here on a student visa you'll need approval from your study program.
  • We are especially keen to hear from applicants who have experience or a strong desire to develop in:
              • Animation / Motion graphics
              • Illustration
              • Photography
              • Videography
              • UX

Where?

You'll join us at our headquarters in TNW City, the most vibrant tech hub in Amsterdam. There are events on at TNW City each week, including talks from Google staff and other start ups resident in the building. There are free beers on Friday afternoons in the 4th floor Club (with a roof terrace overlooking Singel), and ping pong tables in the basement. On top of all this, you'll meet a lot of inspiring people who are trying to leave the world a better place than they found it, just like you.

Due to the current COVID-19 guidance we have implemented flexible working conditions, which we'll be happy to discuss with candidates.

Unfortunately we can't provide work permits or sponsor candidates, sorry!

When?

We accept applicants on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Positions are available for both long term and short term periods.
